Founded in 2024, Neco Elements manufactures timber elements for a wide range of construction needs. The company operates one of Finland’s largest timber element factories in Pyhäntä, Finland equipped with a modern machinery base that enables it to serve construction companies across the country.

The company’s goal is to act as a long-term partner for its customers and to modernize timber element construction with products that deliver time-saving efficiency to projects. Currently in a strong development phase, Neco Elements is expanding its production capacity, which is also driving steady growth in its workforce—now numbering more than 50 employees.

Although the company is young, the organization at all levels holds decades of experience in the timber element industry. Many employees previously worked at Jukkatalo, a pioneer in Finnish timber element housing, which operated in the very same factory before its bankruptcy.

Design Director Iida Niskanen emphasizes customer orientation and courage as Neco Elements’ core values:

“We boldly established a new company where we do things differently for the benefit of our customers. Already, we have introduced products to the market that were not previously available.”

From Pyhäntä, timber elements are delivered to construction companies of all sizes for various projects, including apartment buildings, daycare facilities, schools, offices, as well as commercial, industrial, and retail buildings. The company has also supplied wall and roof elements for detached houses, along with prefabricated façade and balcony modules for apartment buildings.

With its design expertise, Neco Elements can support customers already during the tendering phase of projects by, for example, producing roof models.

“Once a contract is secured, we review the project thoroughly and begin the design work in close cooperation with the customer and their designers. After the design process, the elements move into production and are delivered for installation either by the customer or by us.”

Profitable Time Savings with Versatile Products

Elements bring significant time savings to construction in general, and Neco Elements further facilitates their wide use with versatile product solutions. Thanks to its broad product portfolio, customers can realize projects and shorten the overall construction time exactly as they wish. This is a major advantage, since in construction, time always equals money.

“Modern element construction is no longer limited to just walls. Elements can also be used for terraces, canopies, storage units, and various other structures such as partition walls, intermediate floors, and roofs,” Niskanen points out.

Neco Elements focuses strongly on complete building systems in its offering. These systems allow customers to obtain different types of buildings in highly prefabricated form.

“We are currently developing clear, productized packages for this purpose. The flexible versatility of timber elements makes it possible to create a wide product range for various types of buildings. We can deliver walls, roofs, balconies, and—through our partners—even bathroom and toilet modules, so that a building is nearly ready for finishing on delivery.”

The industrial and highly automated production process ensures consistent quality and excellent dimensional accuracy of the elements, enabling fast installation on-site. At the same time, the critical moisture risks of construction are reduced, since the elements are manufactured in warm indoor factory conditions. The use of prefabricated elements also means fewer labor requirements on the construction site.

Vertex BD Ensures Design Accuracy

Vertex BD software is used in the design of timber elements. According to Niskanen, its key advantage is the possibility of 3D design, which ensures extremely precise plans.

“3D design in itself helps prevent errors, and Vertex works well for IFC model-based design. We usually start our design process directly from the IFC model provided by the customer, ensuring that our plans are compatible even in complex projects,” explains Niskanen.

“On the other hand, if no IFC model is available, we create accurate 3D models of the entire project’s timber elements, and production files are generated from these models. All data flows directly from the designer’s computer to the production machines—for example, for cutting parts, attaching claddings, and so on.”

The partnership with Vertex also includes development collaboration, where the software has been further customized to meet Neco Elements’ and its new products’ specific needs.

Neco Elements has modern tools at its disposal, the company is gaining momentum, and according to Niskanen, signs of recovery can also be seen in the market.

“Our order book is in good shape. We are expanding our factory’s capacity, and in the coming years, it can be increased further in a controlled way. Overall, we look to the future with enthusiasm and optimism.”
